{me}

{lifestyle photography}: a style of photography which aims to portray real life situations in a controlled setting. Lighting is light, airy, and natural looking.

{who i am...my style}

a professional. a photographer. a giver.
a wife of 17 years to my best friend.
a mother of three VERY silly children,
a small dog, and two humongous cats.
a daughter, a sister, a friend.
a strong parent advocate to all things hearing loss.

my passion for photography,
and capturing life's journey comes from
my grandma laurel.
a great inspiration.

i love my camera. i love natural light,
and natural moments.

i love to capture lifestyle moments, more than posed.

i want to capture the moment in time, from
the sweet smell of a newborn to
the innocence of children at play;
the proud senior about to take on the world to
the essence of two people in love;
the family unit and what they create together to
the life lines of grandparents that tell their story;

because time is precious. and so is life.
step by step, day by day.

life is a journey. capture the moments.

my youngest son was born with a profound hearing loss in both ears; he was born deaf. At 10 1/2 months, Aiden was simultaneously implanted with Cochlear Nucleus Freedoms and a month later, his world was turned on. This is our story to and beyond cochlear implants ... our journey, to help aiden hear and speak.

his perseverance, his determination, his patience and willingness, has taught me so much more than I'll ever teach him. he truly is simply.amazing.

{my goal ... to give back}

Once my business is built up, it is my desire to give back. It is my goal to donate a portion of all profits to help families who are starting, or well into, their hearing loss journeys. How? It may be in a way of working with an audiology center to buy a pair of hearing aids for a child whose family can't afford them (especially since so many insurance companies will not pay for them); it may be in a way to help families receive auditory verbal therapy services, who do not have insurance, but still want their child to learn to hear and speak; it may be in a way to donate money to a non-profit organization that provides services every.single.day teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing children to listen and speak; it may be in a way to educate our general population about hearing loss, as 3 out of every 1,000 babies is born with hearing loss, making it the number one birth defect. Whatever way it is, I want to help, as so many have reached out and helped me.
