welcome to my {photo} blog!

This is a place where you can view my photography style and receive the latest updates. This is also a place where I can document my photography journey. There will be professional sneak peaks from sessions along with memories captured of my own family. I LOVE comments and would love to hear yours!

{faq}

1. How far in advance should I book my session and what information do you need?
One to two months in advance is best. I work with natural light, so if booking on location, early morning or early evening times are ideal for lighting. Both weekday and weekend times are available. When you first call, prepare to spend some time (or schedule some time) as a "getting to know you" session, so don't be shocked as I ask what may seem like silly questions. I believe it is very important to know whom I will be photographing as much as possible prior, 1) in order to make the photo shoot itself more comfortable and relaxed and 2) to make sure I capture the true essence of who it is I am photographing. If you have any particular suggestions/wants, let me know, these are your memories!

2. How long do I need to wait until I see my finished photos?
Please allow one to two weeks. I do not "retake" the picture in an editing software program, as I believe the true essence of the image happens when it is captured. I will make minor edits to the photo itself along with edit out minor blemishes, scratches, etc.  If you would like to see or print a particular photo in black and white or a different hue, let me know! I want to make sure you love the finished product!

3. What happens if I need to reschedule my session?
I'm a mom of three kids. LIFE HAPPENS. I GET IT. I'm a natural light photographer. I have no control over mother nature. If you need to reschedule (or i need to reschedule), please provide as much notice as possible in order to make the time slot available to other clients (and i will do the same). I am here to work with you.

4. What is a mini-session?
Throughout the year, family/individual portrait events are scheduled, which run approximately 15-20 minutes per session, at a predetermined location at a special rate. Make sure to frequently check back to book your spot at any upcoming mini-session! OR contact me and I will add you to my email list for upcoming events!

5. What style of photography do you use when working with children?
I believe a child is best photographed when not trying to control their every move. I believe in natural moments that capture a child's true self. I want my photos to bring you back in time, like a song. I will shoot a few posed shots, especially when there is more than one child, but more than likely, I will sit and watch, then snap, as I capture your child's personality.
